Hey Everyone, to celebrate a New Year we’ve made a new site. 😀 Go check it out: http://nexusadventures.ga/ And yes this means we will no longer be posting to this site as of this post. We will answer comments but do wish you post them on the new site post. 😀 Merry Christmas. 🙂
Sorry for not showing any progress for a while. We’re all really busy but we try to work on LNA every now and then 😉 .
Still aiming for something to release before the end of the year, so stay tuned!
Hello everyone! My name is Backyard and I’m a music composer for Lego Nexus Adventures. Many of you might not have heard a lot about me other than a video of my music on the LNA YouTube Channel. Well let me introduce myself. I’m 15 years old and I’m from Norway, and I’ve been producing music since I was 9 years old. I discovered LNA when I tried playing LU after it got shut-down. Later that night I applied for LNA and here I am.
Now back to the picture. Anyone know what were doing?
Since a lot of people are worried about us not having released something playable this summer, let me clear things up a bit. Around spring, we’ve had a idea about what to release as a first demo: a (singleplayer) game featuring a character create, Nexus Starship and another world (we were thinking about Imagination Gardens but we were also experimenting with user costumizable worlds aka Properties). But then something wonderful happened.
Our coder Carbon managed to succesfully develop a Multiplayer demo, something that has been in the planning from the beginning but has been scrapped after some time because we coudln’t get it working properly. All the multiplayer demo’s we’ve created in the past lacked a smooth gameplay, were really hard to configure by the end-user or simply didn’t work how they would supposed to work. We all didn’t have the expertise to create a multiplayer game and were just copy-pasting stuff from tutorials while hoping it would work (what it didn’t do eventually 😛 ). But the multiplayer demo Carbon has created has a smooth gameplay, is easy to configure and just works.
So we changed the plans for our demo that was scheduled for summer release (and was actually almost ready, I think we were a week or two ahead of the release) to a multiplayer demo. But as you would expect, most of the things we’ve coded were coded for a singleplayer game and didn’t just work when you put them in a multiplayer game. So we started to recreate the features, brick by brick. We’ve been also experimenting with new features and new concepts that would be really amazing in a multiplayer experience.
Don’t lose your hopes. We’re doing better then ever and are making more progress then before. We’re still aiming to release something before the end of this year, something with multiplayer 😛 .
That’s it for now folks!
This video showcases LEGO-realistic lights and shaders to make it feel more like real LEGO.
And the video also shows also a small sneak peak from a part of Imagination Gardens and even a small part of some new LNA music.
Hope you guys like it! 🙂
(PS: We’ve more to show you guys ‘soonish’ (soon, but don’t expect it next week or something), so stay tuned! 😀 )
I know it’s been awhile since we’ve posted and we’re sorry for this post not being what is expected. But we would like to wish a member of LNA Farewell as he pursues in bettering his skills. He is known by or refereed to on the staff pages as Jay, or DecorativeKale.
If those are related to his real name I do not know, but I do know that he composed some great songs for LNA, some of which I will put in up on Youtube as both a tribute to him and a show case of our development in our music department.
With heavy hearts we say goodbye as he said goodbye with a heavy heart. But we don’t wish any members, current, past, or present to make LNA their life or let it deeply effect any part of their life. I will conclude this post with that statement and I hope to post again soon with some more progress. 🙂
